Drummer Dj Producer Promoter Born in the longest night of the year, in the early seventies in Vienna, Austria, Tommy aka Audio Device was bound to music already in his very young days. He started playing the piano, did this for 10 years and also took several lessons in various other classical instruments until he finally got hooked up on the drums. His very first moves in electronic music with synthesizers and Drum Machines were back in the 90ies together with lo-res.org, performing Techno live acts in several locations and festivals until he met Drum and Bass music. His Dj career began in late ´98 at Vienna´s hottest Jungle and Drum and Bass location, the "Kunstwerk". As resident he became very well known for tight and harmonic mixing, his sets consisting a subtle mixture of soulful and harder styles, the melodic side and the dark sounds. Audio Device proved he is at the forefront of Drum and Bass progression, you can feel his groove and love to the drums and to the bass.... His knowledge of the turntables and crowd-pleasing selection has made Tommy one of Vienna´s most booked Djs, and together with his work as promoter he met and worked with many of the great Drum and Bass artists of the whole world. According the scene in Vienna he is hosting the annual "Vienna Drum and Bass Festival" since the year 2000 where everyone working for DnB in Vienna meets to represent a scene with a wide range of innovation and vibes. Nowadays Audio Device´s Synergetic Crew hosts their monthly club at WUK Vienna serving a national and international DnB floor and a Reggae Dancehall floor. His latest project as a drummer is the first album release with his Reggae band “Cheesevibes”, whose full extend equals a band of 10 musicians playing unique Reggae and Ragga styles. The album “Hop&Drop” came out late 05 and is very popular in the german speaking areas, available on “Hoanzl DHF Records”. As Producing was a big wish for Tommy since he used to work with Bands a lot, he finally got into working his own DnB beats on a computer.
